We have been commissioned by Plumlife to produce the marketing material for a residential development in Blackpool. This includes branding for the development, brochure and hoarding design, along with 3D Images and a short animation.
After completing an honours degree in marketing and business management in South Africa, I decided to move to the UK. I have been working in the Creative and Construction sectors for over 8 years, but have always been fascinated by architecture and building design. I fell in love with architectural visualisation when I saw a film produced for the Urban Splash Development, Chips and the impact it had on the development’s marketing. The visuals that 3D artists produce using 2D drawings constantly amazes me and I love that architecture can be brought to life and engage with people through great visualisation. I’ve worked on both small and large-scale developments for national and international clients as the Studio Director at Smoothe for nearly 4 years. I set up Our Studio in January 09 and look forward to our portfolio growing further and us playing a positive role in communication for marketing and planning for the Construction Industry.
With an honours degree in technical and information illustration my career as a 3d artist began 6 years ago at one of the leading visualisation companies in the UK, Smoothe. Here, I honed my techniques in image and the visual form, pushing the boundaries of typical architectural visualisation and animation. The whole process of creating a stunning image involves the many different facets of understanding architecture and building processes, how light can affect the mood and emotion of a visual, and how photography can boost an image to the next level, whilst utilising the latest innovations in 3D. There is a great feeling of achievement when a project you have worked on gains planning permission or you see a finished structure permanently in place. There is such variety in the work we do, enabling us to work with many talented architects, artists, ideas and technology, which keeps our work fresh and exciting.
